What is Satakieli?
Satakieli is a multilingual media that publishes journalism that crosses language and cultural borders.
Our aim is to increase the diversity of voices in the Finnish media landscape. Satakieli seeks out topics and perspectives that are of interest to foreign-language communities living in Finland and brings to the public eye themes and people from these communities that are often neglected by the big media.
Satakieli is published by the journalism degree programme of Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences. Satakieli is part of the Council for Mass Media in Finland and is committed to following their Journalistic Guidelines.
Satakieli is an experimental and evolving project that experiments with new forms of multilingual journalism and storytelling. The experiments may also affect the layout and functionality of the website. Any bugs found on the website can be reported by email to satakielimedia@gmail.com.
